Car Accident

Another car dream. . . .

I had a dream
that I was in the passenger side
of a car,
someone else was driving.
(that's the second time recently
that I've had a dream
where someone else
was driving the car.)

We were going down a street
that I can only describe
as a town square.
We were just passing
a quaint city hall.
There was only one lane going in either direction,
with a center left turn lane.

It was a nice fall day,
beautiful colors and a decent temperature.

Suddenly,
the car in front of us
started to move toward the center lane.
There was an elderly lady driving.
And then,
she just did a total about face.
It was almost as if
she was sliding on ice,
but only there was no ice.

Her car was totally facing
the opposite direction
and she was in the center lane,
moving backward toward the other lane.

There was a car coming
from the opposite direction.
There were two young men in that car.
They tried to avoid hitting that car
so they ended up driving on the side walk.
But there was a railing to one of the buildings
and there car went right into it.
Then, there car just flipped right over.
One of the young men fell out of the car
at that point.
He seemed to very seriously injured.

The person who was driving the car I was in
went into a total shock
at seeing the young man
fall from the car.
He managed to stop our car,
but ran into one of the buildings
on our side of the road,
not wanting to see the young man who was hurt.

When the police came
I told them everything I saw.
After the ambulance took the young men away,
I went into the building
to get the person who was driving our car.
(I'm not sure who it was,
but I think it was a relative or close friend.)
He did not want to drive the car home.
He didn't even want to leave the building.
He would only leave if he could close his eyes
so as not to see.
I had to guide him to the car
as though he were blind.
He kept his eyes closed
until we were totally out of that area.

What does this mean?
Who was driving my car
and why was I on the passenger side again?
Why was there an accident?
Why did I witness the accident?
Who was the old lady who caused the accident?
And why was her car going backwards?
Who was the young man that fell from the car?
Why did the person with me
need to close there eyes?

Polar Bears

Wow!
Has it been that long
since I've last posted something?

Last night,
I had dream
that we were coming home
from I don't know where.
We were driving down
Jefferson Avenue.

But Jefferson was flooded.
I didn't want M. to drive through
thinking that the car would sink.
But he drove through anyway.

There was a huge polar bear
just off to the right.
It was so huge
that I thought it had to be
a mechanical bear,
that the water
was part of some sort of festival or something.
The polar bear
was large enough
to swallow the car whole.

And then,
I saw another polar bear
come up from underneath the water.
Only his head popped out of the water.
This one was also to the right of the car
but much closer.

Finally,
we reached a place
where the water over the road
was much more shallow.
He parked the car
and we proceeded on foot.
There were three of us
in the car.

Many of the people
were flooded out of their apartments.
They were sitting in lawnchairs
just in front of their homes.
The apartments were very, very small,
just one room homes.

The electricity was off
because there was just so much water.

Finally,
we came upon a place
where we could rest
after walking such a great distance.
The electricity was still off
in this place
but there were pillows and blankets
and chairs
for us to rest a bit.
The only lights that worked
were battery operated.

It turned out
that this was actually someone's apartment,
but he let us rest there for awhile.

No one ever knew why there was so much water
or where the polar bears came from.
