Black and White

My most recent dream
was quite unusual.

I was arriving at a rather large
outdoor event.
It was obviously a celebration of some sort.

There were many people there.
Most were just standing around,
as if waiting for something to happen.

And then I noticed
that some of the people
were different.
After a few moments
I realized
that I was seeing some of the people
in black and white.
Most of the people were in color.
But,
for some reason
I was seeing some of the people
in black and white.

And then a large truck,
a flatbed,
started to proceed slowly down the road.
It was then I realized
that we were all gathered
for a wedding.

The flatbed was all decorated
as if in a parade.
There was a large woman on the parade float,
many feet high.
She was dressed in a bridal gown.
Except she was all in black.

And then all of the people,
both the people in color
and the people in black and white,
started to follow the float
down the road.

Why was the bride in black?
Why did I see some of the people
in black and white?
Why was at the celebration
if I didn't even know the bride?

Moving Pictures

This dream was a bit unusual.

I had a dream that I had some friends
who inherited a house
that had been in their family
for many generations.

As they began to move in
they found a box
with several old photos in it.
It was of past generations
of their family
in front of their house.

One was of children
playing on the front porch.

One was of a bridal couple
entering their car
right in front of this house.

The photos were all black and white.
But there were like movies.
Each time my friends handed me a photo
it was like watching a short movie of the event.
I found this odd.

What was even more odd
is that the people in these little movies
were very much aware
that we were watching them.
The bridal couple even waived at us.
